Yesterday was Adrian's first day of preschool at American Legacy Montessori School. The hours of this preschool worked out pretty well (at least better than others) with kindergarten and he has been asking to go to school. So I thought I would give it a shot. Considering how attached he and I are, I didn't expect things to go well. But he just walked right in, found a place to sit, and started playing with a puzzle. He said that it is the "best school in the world." That of course remains to be seen.

More Birthday Festivities
Yesterday, our immediate families came over to celebrate Adrian's birthday. I love how excited kids get about cake. Adrian actually thanked me for his. I made a train cake and he chose to eat part of the engine. My parents were in town from MN and Adrian was very excited they could join us.

Adrian's Third Birthday
Sweet Adrian is three-years-old today. I cannot believe how quickly he is growing up. He has always been very affectionate and is constantly giving me hugs and kisses and wanting me to hold him.
Adrian has been looking forward to this day for months, asking at each birthday celebration we've attended if this was his birthday party. And telling me that he wanted a Superman, Batman, Spiderman, Wiggles, Dinosaur, Train birthday party. Of course Theo very authoritatively explained each time that Adrian had to choose only one theme.
Since Adrian loves trains so much, we took the train (uta trax) to Salt Lake City and went to the zoo. We were so happy that Terry and Karlie were able to join us.

Observing monkeys

Adrian literally ran to each exhibit. And at each one he asked us to lift him over the fence so he could join the animals. He just could not understand why this was not possible.

By the time we returned home, Adrian was fast asleep. Happy birthday Adrian, you will always be my baby boy!

Family Update Part III: Adrian Elefterios
Adrian is a sweet 2 1/2 year old. He and his big brother are buddies and Adrian often asks Theo to stay home from preschool so they can play together. He too is a superhero fan, along with trains and riding his tricycle. Adrian is a home body and will often ask me if we can go "ome" to our "lellow" house. Sometimes he feels more like my baby than Nora because he loves to be held and most night ends up in our bed (he has never slept through the night! -- but Nora sleeps through the night). I am curious to see what Adrian does with his hands because he can sit for a very long time "writing" and "drawing".
