First Day of Kindergarten

Monday we joined the ranks of many of parents who are sending their kindergartners to school this year. Theo of course was very excited about the big day and pleased with how his new backpack fit. He just walked right in and waved and I felt like a proud parent that he was so happy about his first day. As we walked away, I burst into tears, which I did not expect considering how excited I was for him to go to kindergarten. And Theo has been in daycare and preschool so it is not as if he and I haven't spent time apart. But suddenly he is growing up and I don't know how it happened so quickly!

I couldn't wait to hear how his first day went. He said that is was "good". And that he couldn't remember most of the rules except to not ask to go to the bathroom unless you really need to and to raise your hand if you have a question. Yesterday when I told him it was time to get ready for school he said, "I have to go again!?" He said he thinks he does not want to go everyday because it is like baby school.

I am so curious to see how Theo does this year. I always loved school, especially the first day.

Very excited
Where do I put my backpack?

Theo Graduates

Today was graduation for Ms. Stacey's "All Aboard Preschool" class. The kids looked so cute in their paper graduation caps and painted shirts. They each held up a month sign and recited a poem and all performed various songs to demonstrate their newly acquired knowledge.

The best thing about this preschool year for Theo was that he attended with his cousin Sarah. Oh the perks of living near family. Here are Theo and Sarah on their first day of preschool.

And here they are on their last. Watch out Kindergarten!

Family Update Part II: Anthony Theodore "Theo"

Theo is an enthusiastic kid who loves any sort of activity be it preschool, soccer, t-ball, or outings. And you can count on Theo to adore his teachers and coaches. He is also very compassionate, especially toward his younger siblings and animals.

Theo just turned 5 (May 4th) complete with a superhero-themed celebration. He started talking about his party in January and you'd think he was having some sort of super-sweet-sixteen party. I caught a little of his excitement and a balloon artist made an almost life-size Batman, put on a juggling show, and made everyone their balloon creation of choice. Totally worth it because I just stood there and watched. I made capes for kids with their "super" initial on the back. We had a very fun time with everyone.
