The Big 4-0

Today is Terry's 40th birthday! Happy birthday to a wonderful man.

I am wearing all black today in mourning of my husband's youth. No, really, Terry will make forty fabulous because he is so young at heart. He is truly one of the most adventurous people I know. He loves to laugh, is easy-going, and full of energy. Hard working, Terry is a successful entrepeneur who takes on most challenges with great optimism. He is a devoted companion and friend without whom I could not imagine my life. He has always supported me and those he loves in their endeavors. Above all Terry is kind, compassionate and loves his family and friends.

Terry, born on Mother's Day, is pictured here with his mother Gloria.

Terry has always been a sports enthusiast. Here is a photo of him circa 1983 (oh, so serious) as an All-State kicker. He also played soccer and college tennis. He even coached college tennis.

If you know Terry, you know he loves NYC. He spent his childhood there as well as his church mission. (Yes, he is a huge Mets and Knicks fan.)

Terry is the oldest of 5 children and has the unique opportunity of sharing his birthday with his next younger brother, George, as well as his grandmother from Brazil, Julietta (Vovo'). Also, he shares this birthday with his cousin Jonathan, which means Vovo's first three grandchildren were born on her birthday!

This year Terry was lucky to celebrate together with Vovo', who is staying with Terry's parents. We had a fun party on Saturday with Brazilian food and all (thanks to Gloria and Aunt Cecilia). Before that, Terry spent the day with Karlie and Theo.

Vovo turns 85!
I plotted and schemed about what to do for this milestone birthday. I love a good party! But in the end it was low key and a wonderful time. The great thing about Terry is that his idea of the best birthday party in the world is spending it with his family.

Happy Birthday George!!

Happy Birthday Vovo'!!

Happy Birthday Terry!!

May this be your best year yet!
