88th Anniversary of 19th Ammendment

Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony

This week marks the 88th anniversary of the 19th amendment guaranteeing women the right to vote. (It was ratified on August 18, 1920 and certified on August 26th, 1920, the anniversary).

We have come a long way. What do you think of John McCain's choice for VP? Surprising move by the Republican presidential candidate?

I am TOTALLY surprised! I really thought (and hoped) it would be Romney...but I'm pleased. She's a perfect (conservative!) choice--with the VP being a woman, it totally takes the wind out of the Dem's sails as far as making the "historical choice" for the presidency! LOVE IT!

We were surprised. Very happy that it wasn't Pawlenty (the thought of Malnou is scary at the Governor of MN). She just finished her speech at the Ohio rally, I thought she did good. The next few weeks will be interesting to watch.

I think that McCain maybe trying to steal some of the disgruntled Hilary supporters. It's an interesting choice and exciting that we will be making history with a female VP or a minority President either way.
I also think that he picked a relative newcomer to combat claims that he is entrenched in Washington politics. And a youngster to balance his age a bit :).

And I totally agree about being relieved that Malnau is not going to be the MN governor.
